After not having much sleep last night and then getting up early for an online meeting, I was going to write a post about how meh the rest of the day had been. I’ve decided against whinging (or whining as the Canadians say) as it’s counter-productive and makes me feel worse. So excuse the positivity while I recap what I got done today.
First, the online meeting. These only happen once every two months so it’s not a big problem. It went over by an hour but these things happen. At least by being up so early, I got to see Glen in the morning. Usually I lounge in bed until after he’s gone to work.
I edited two chapters of my new novel. They were chapters I’d worked on yesterday but they still needed more work. Once I completed them, unfortunately my creativity had been expended and I couldn’t do any more. I’ve passed my initial deadline for this, and will probably miss the next one. Luckily, they’re not contracted so I won’t get penalised. Just means there’ll be a delay on when it comes out next year. However, I’d rather submit a good book instead of a crap one.
I contacted a guy about hiring a bus for the wedding so I should hopefully get a quote for that tomorrow. I also contacted someone else about performing the official side of things at the wedding. We received a quote from someone Glen contacted yesterday. $400 to sit there and sign some papers. Geez. We also got confirmation that the restaurant we wanted for the buck’s night is available and on hold for us. Just need to finalise that.
I had a nap for about an hour. It helped.
A couple of weeks ago I took my camera lens to be repaired and they said it would be five to ten working days. Today was the 10th day and I hadn’t heard anything. I called. They need a part to come from Japan. It’ll be a little while longer, but they said it would be here and repaired by the wedding. The downside is that I won’t be able to take it with me to Nova Scotia this weekend. While my new phone takes pretty good photos, it’s not quite the same. On the plus side, I won’t have to lug around a heavy camera when we hike the Cabot Trail.
I changed the bookings for the condo suites for Glen’s mum and aunt. It had been sitting on my list of things to do for months. Feels so good to finally get that done. I went to the bank to withdraw some money from an Australian account and transfer it to our Canadian account. The Aussie dollar isn’t doing so well against the Canadian at the moment so the money isn’t going as far as it did a few months ago.
I then went to the gym. I didn’t want to. I almost didn’t, claiming weariness, but I went. Worked out my shoulders. They should be sore tomorrow, though I think I need to increase my weights again.
And now I’m home, cooking rice and about to get a few more things done before Glen gets home. We might get to the movies tonight.
So, looking back, it’s been a productive day, even with the tiredness. If I get a good night’s sleep tonight, I should be super productive tomorrow. Right, that’s enough positivity for now I think.

What do you say, eh?
