The other night we met a family from London, Canada (that was confusing, hearing a Canadian accent saying they were from London) and were readily invited to spend time with them when we go over there.
We were even asked to Thanksgiving Dinner. Glen got a bit confused and asked if that was the one with peasants (I’m sure he knew it was pilgrims) but this set everyone laughing. They laughed harder when he asked if we could wear costumes – either Pilgrim or Indian – and I said I’d make a Mayflower replica to go with it.

We heard about the zoo (both in Toronto and in London) and got insight into the world over there. How fun Toronto is and the good wine region nearby (who knew it got warm enough to produce wine?). There’s also a train that goes up to the Yukon so that might be another option for the Northern Lights.
Apart from all the insider knowledge, what I was struck with was the warmth, friendliness and hospitality they showed to relative strangers. It’ll be great to spend time with them.

What do you say, eh?
